Expansion Slots

These slots are used to attach the Additional Controllers like IDE Controller, Display Controller ( CGA-VGA-AGP), Sound or Audio Controller, Ethernet Controller, SCSI Controller, TV Tuner Controller, Modem Controller etc., to the Motherboard. These slots are situated in the left side of the Keyboard Connector. Mainly thare 6 types of Slots are used. They are .....

2. PCI Slot ( Peripheral Component Interconnect )

3. AGP Slot ( Accelerator Graphics Port )

4. AMR/CNR Slot ( Audio Modem Raiser / Communications and Network Raiser )

5. PCI-E Slot 16x ( Peripherals Component Interconnect - Express Slot )

6. PCI-E Slot 1x ( Peripherals Component Interconnect - Express Slot )

Useful article on expansion slots. All the slots attached by a Computers motherboards because it is the main circuit board of a computer which contains the connectors for attaching the contains like CPU, BIOS, mass storage interfaces, memory, serial and parallel ports, and many other controllers required to control by a motherboard.
